OMFG – BBQ Slut is LIVE! -_-

Hey, Y’all! Guess what! My new special, BBQ Slut, where I, Michael David, Mast BBQ Chef Extraordinaire, break out the Weber Grill, Charcoal and my apron and start cooking with fire. I’ve been grilling since I was about 12. I prefer cooking on charcoal but in a pinch a gas grill will due. Nothing beats the flavor of cooking with charcoal. I mostly use Kingsford classic, but I have been known to break out some other specialty cooking coals from time to time.

I prefer to build my fires using a pyramid of coals and lighter fluid. There are several other methods out there including buying a chimney and lighting cubes. I don’t feel the extra equipment is necessary. I never having a problem getting my coals to the right temperature. But to each their own.

When filming the first episode, my team and I decided we might as well go for steak. Because honestly, what better thing is there to grill. Family steak has been something my family has cooked for years. My recipe has been altered a bit from the original. It goes something like olive oil, soy sauce, garlic, cumin, salt, pepper, and honey (or brown sugar). And if you like, a little ginger root. I recommend marinating this one for about 24 hour with some chopped onions, green peppers and mushrooms. When I grill the steaks, I throw the basket and cook them up. And, I heat up the extra sauce to be used for dipping when the steak is done. Delish!

This round turned out awesome as usual. The filming was a little jerky because we were getting our rhythm down. We shot all of the first episode with a single camera. We will be shooting with 2 moving forward.

Next up to hit the coals: Mustard and honey marinated pork chops, grilled sweet corn and fire roasted habanero pineapple. MMMM.

Watch me cook the steaks HERE!

Ciao for now sluts!

Michael
